Directs creation of digital records of actual crop conditions and cross-verification of survey data
Stresses technical solutions to correct map errors and update land records
Raipur, October 9, 2026/ Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel on Friday directed officials to ensure 100 per cent Girdawari (crop inspection) under the Digital Crop Survey and create digital records of actual crop conditions in the fields.
Chairing a meeting at Mahanadi Bhawan, the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of the survey, the completeness of land records and the measures required to ensure 100 per cent Girdawari. He directed officials to create digital records of the actual crop conditions in areas where crops have been sown. The corresponding Khasra records must be verified to establish whether crops have been sown on the land. In areas where crops are present, the information must be recorded by creating polygons as per the prescribed procedure. He stressed that the Digital Crop Survey should provide an accurate and reliable record of the crops sown in the fields.
Directs cross-verification of digital crop survey data
The Chief Secretary directed officials to constitute a state-level team to conduct field verification in different districts to ensure the quality of the survey. The team should verify the recorded information on the ground and prepare reports detailing the number of khasras verified, records found correct and discrepancies identified. Erroneous records should be corrected, and an internal verification of the survey should also be carried out.
He also directed officials to compare digital crop survey data with figures relating to paddy cultivation, farmer registration and paddy procurement. Information available in different records should be cross-checked and necessary corrections made, he said.
Calls for technical solutions to resolve map errors
Reviewing the key challenges encountered during the survey, the Chief Secretary said work should not be delayed unnecessarily due to unavailable maps or other technical problems. The Revenue Department should explore suitable technical solutions to address these issues and prepare a plan to update maps wherever necessary. Cases requiring physical verification and polygon verification should be completed in accordance with the prescribed procedure, he said.
Directs review of survey progress with district collectors
The Chief Secretary directed Revenue Department officials to hold meetings with district collectors to review the progress of the digital crop survey and verification work. Officials concerned in all districts should verify village and field records and take time-bound action to address deficiencies. He stressed regular monitoring and coordination among departments to ensure the effective completion of the exercise.
