13 August 2025: Mahendra Singh, manager of DRDO guest house in Jaisalmer, has been arrested by Rajasthan Police from Jaipur for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s ISI. After interrogation and him being found guilty, evidence emerged confirming his involvement in passing sensitive information about DRDO scientist, army officer’s visits and missile testing in the Chandan Field firing range.
The intelligence wing arrested Mahendra after the suspicion of spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency. Officials said a joint interrogation at Jaipur by Police and security agencies produced evidence confirming his role, leading to Official Secrets Act,1923. IG (Security) Vishnukant Singh, a a resident of Almora in Uttarakhand, was passing sensitive information to his Pakistani handler.
His acts of spying came to light while he was providing the details about visits of army officials and DRDO scientists to the Chandan Field Firing Range in Jaisalmer. He also passed information about missiles and other weapon testing. Vishnukant Singh was managing the guest house for the past four to five years. He is also suspected of supplying data on strategic military operations.
